Why do we sleep in school, but stay awake through a 3 hour movie? Why is it so hard to talk about God,but so easy to talk about sex? Why are we so bored when we look at a Christian magazine, but find it so easy to read Playboy? Why is it so easy to ignore a Godly forward yet forward the nasty ones? Why are churches getting smaller, but bars and clubs are expanding? Why is it so easy to worship a celebrity, but very difficult to engage with God? Think about it are you going to forward this? Are you going to ignore it,cause you think you will get laughed at?
The Lord said:If you deny me in front of your friends,I will deny you in front of my Father.

I'm fucking useless again. Seriously. I did not write a single word today. And I probably won't write any TOMORROW because of creative writing and needing to type up the report for the oral report I'm going to do in class. Bleeeeh. Although I'll be happy to get that report over with so I don't have to think about it any more.
I did have a good day, though. I was super-busy socially this weekend, and I'm kind of fucked this coming week, too. Wednesday I have to go see my psychiatrist, and Thursday I'm going to see a play with my mother, brother, and aunt. I'm also supposed to go to therapy, so I hope I can time it to do both.
Bleeeeeh. No word count.

Anyone know of a good-yet-at-least-moderately-affordable CPA in Massachusetts? I need a hand knowing the ramifications of self-incorporation and how to do business filings and payroll, and if they're good, I'll retain them for an hour or two a month going forward.

The blue beachball was just gathering dust. So I inflated it, washed it and gave it to the horses.

The real surprise here was just how good it got.
Particularly that bit at the end. You know, that conversation. Damn, Lindsey Duncan is good.

Not the most productive day. Usually I manage to write a significant number of words partially because I write some in the very early AM, so the words count for the next day even though they feel like the previous one. Then I do a long session in the day after I've slept, usually in the evening after seven. Well, Becky was having a movie party tonight. I had thought it was Saturday night, when I was busy, and didn't even bother making sure I was actually invited and could go. And then when I'm at anime club today, I find out it is TONIGHT, and since Becky, and Maggie, and Cassie, who are all doing nanowrimo, were going to be there...
Well, I went to the party. We all thought we'd end up writing during the movies some. We didn't. I partially didn't because I forgot the cord to my laptop, and would have felt like I had to pick the BEST time to use my remaining battery power, to get the most words. And then I just got too into Edward Scissorhands. Oh well. Good times were had by all. I think. I discovered why everyone had been pissed at Misa's boyfriend a week before. Apparently he had been ignoring her, and she didn't know why. But she says things are better now. Becky still seemed to be angry about it though, and Laine and Amelia were really pissed, so I don't know if they think it's "better," either. Most of Misa's friends don't like George as her boyfriend, much. But I think of her like I sometimes think of myself. Somehow, Misa "should" be dating someone. If she were single, it would be kind of weird to me. And yet George is her first boyfriend. I don't know. I would be uncomfortable if I was single. I haven't been truly single in almost three years. Side effect of being poly. Even when I break up with someone, there are other people there. And I like it that way. I think I might have become hung up over this; I probably wouldn't know what to do with myself if I was truly single.
But I guess this isn't the time for that musing.
So, words. I got back with an hour to spare, but spent it eating a really late dinner (since the party started at 7 I thought there would be food-food, but there were only snacks) and reading, and didn't even update the nano site with the words that I did write today, in the car. I've written since then, but of course those words will count for tomorrow.
34,236 words as of now. Still 4k behind Lydia. I blew a good chance to catch up, but tomorrow should be another. She's such a motivating force this year. I have another nano buddy who always blows me away with her word count, but Lydia is the one I kind of develop a vendetta against. In a good way. This bizarre thing totally makes the month for me.

Randomness.
I wonder how the hell a radio that has been sitting there before I was born can suddenly pick up a radio station all the way from Shreveport Louisiana!
I'm in the bath room brushing my pearly whites and I hear a commercial, its a car dealership and they are based in Shreveport so I stop and think, hey that can't be right,I don't live anywhere near Shreveport thats all the way in Louisiana and way up north Louisiana at that,I've only been there once in my life and it was a long drive up there!
So I stood there and listened to see if I heard right and maybe they'll say Houston instead since we can pick up Houston stations.
But nope I heard correctly, they said Shreveport and that station was 96.5 FM,so I was like well fuck me silly and call me toots, thats just fucking weird! hahaha!
Damn, that radio is probubly at least 30-35 years old and it still works and its picking up a Louisiana station and one from Shreveport at that, damn thats just unbelieveable,I am so far away from Shreveport its not funny, lol!!
Its kind of awesome though, now if that damn radio picks up a station from Canada, thats when I'll throw that sucker out,it might be possessed or something, hahaha!!

Not exactly a huge loss, although I shall continue to watch it to the end.
It wasn't nearly as good as Firefly, or Buffy at its best (although it didn't suffer from Buffy's horrible scoring). Its biggest problem was the premise, which was fascinating and original and really wasn't going to work for a TV show. That and -- though it pains me to say this -- Eliza Dushku just isn't good enough to carry that kind of show.
I'll miss Topher and Adelle not quite getting each other, and Enver Gjokaj being awesome. But plenty of better shows have died sooner.

Fun fact of the day: Sean Connery did not learn that he was an actor until 1976. Before then, his film career consisted of directors bribing him to answer to a specific name (often "James Bond"), then following him around with a hidden camera.
Although they went to some lengths to prevent him from obtaining live ammunition, and issued all the stuntmen involved with bullet-proof vests, there were inevitably some casualties. Notably Robert Shaw, who fortunately had an identical twin brother who was able to take over his life.
Zardoz, incidentally, was a complete accident. It all started when Sean Connery got into an argument with some hippies while wearing his swimming costume, and just kind of escalated.
Michael Caine said, of working on The Man Who Would Be King: "It was bloody terrifying. There we were in the middle of the desert, surrounded by half-savage extras with bows and swords, and Sean led a bloody great cavalry charge right into the middle of them. If John [Huston] hadn't had the bright idea of having everyone bow down and start worshipping him, he'd probably have murdered half the cast."

I don't think we can trust that the moon has water on it.
After all, everyone knows that confessions induced via torture are likely not true.
The moon clearly is like FUCK, BOMBS?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! FINE, WATER - SURE - YEAH, I HAVE IT - HAD IT FOR YEARS. JESUS - STOP WITH THE FUCKING BOMBS ALREADY.

Up until this morning, I thought only tequila had the power to give me a hangover.
I must be getting old.
It did rain a lot today, though, which made things easier.

Okay, so I was pretty useless today. After writing a quite significant chunk yesterday, I caved and started RPing with Rayne. And was up until about 3:30am and got about three and a half hours of sleep. I did okay in Sociology, but I was so spaced out in Psychology. And yet I'm pretty good at autopilot, so I still have notes. I bummed pizza during lunch, which killed my desire to just SLEEP THROUGH that hour and a half, which was nice, since I wrote then. I also visited my Creative Writing professor after Nutrition (which sucked, as always). Talking to her with pages is always both traumatic and exhilarating. I showed her my one story from 218, which is just about a year old now. And there were actually a BUNCH of things in it she liked, even if there were entire paragraphs she said were confusing or that there were major problems with (like the adjective dump when I introduced the "villain." She underlined them. There were a lot). I wanted to try rewriting it from the "villain's" point of view, since we are required to do a revision (as in literally a new vision of the story) for an old work for the class. But after talking to her, I kind of want to make it better in Misha's point of view. And I don't know if I can do both. Hmmn.
So I didn't really write much today. When I finally got home, I was braindead and chilled on facebook before leaving for Dave's dinner thing. I got to see Katt again, which was awesome. And Luke and Dave, and a handful of people I hadn't met yet. And there was sushi. I brought Katt and Luke back to hang out after, so no writing really got done then. And I wasn't motivated to do it now, because it's after midnight, which means it's Friday, and Friday evening at mom's is prime writing time for me. If I'm going from about seven almost straight through until midnight, I really don't need to be doing it now when I'm not up to snuff.
Except I was so close to Lydia, and now it's 4k words to catch up. I'll make it tomorrow. Today. Whatever. Just you wait.
The current word count is 31,919 words.

We've been working hard on the Lashouts website, trying to get some decent content up, and one of the pages that we're working on is a list of Hamilton's notable blogs. We want to have a page of some of her doozies so that people know where to go when referencing Hamilton's- er- more eccentric blogs.
Check out the Notable Blogs page (found on the Links page) and let us know what blogs you think should be easily referenced for anyone looking to, say, point out to Troos that Hamilton isn't all that or a bag of chips. If there are any other sites you feel deserve mention on the Links page, or any other content that needs to be added to the site, drop a comment.
We're working on getting some blurbs up there about the mods, and then we'll dive into the 'Team LKH: A Primer' page. Enjoy!

Ahaha, the second part is already 12k words. I'm behind on posting it. It's definitely going to be longer than part one, at this rate. There are a number of plot-ish things that still need to happen, while in part one I was just trying to give people enough info on the world before moving to the main plot event, which was the scouting mission to the city. In this part, Damien arrives, is kind of kidnapped, and is rescued. I should admit, I initially wanted to have him beaten up at the very beginning. But I uh, forgot about that. Huh.

Welp, we're well into week two now. I'm getting those emails about how much week two sucks, and I have totally not been having that problem. The email from my municipal liaisons was pretty awesome. The one from Lynda Barry, not so much. I'm sorry. I don't write by hand these days. I'm very particular about doing any serious writing on my laptop. HOWEVER, I do all planning by hand. So I was kind of irked to read a "pep talk" where the person was sort of telling me that yeah, computers are nice, but you're not a real writer unless you do it by HAND, man. Just... Bleh. That's great for people who write best that way, but I don't. And I DO treat writing by hand and by computer kind of the same. She went on a bit about how you can't just delete, and copy, and paste by hand. But I rarely delete. No matter how I'm writing, I'll stop and think if there's something I'm not sure about, until I think I have the line "right" in my head. Nano is not for editing. I do my damn best not to delete ANYTHING. I didn't even delete those 188 words when I lost the scene. I just turned it into something else.
So yeah, I wrote today. I took my time about it way more than I should. Didn't get started until about 8:30. Even though I was home most of the day -- I did have to go to the dentist though, which is always traumatic for me. And now two of my fillings (top and bottom) press together awkwardly when my teeth are closed, and I guess it's going to be like that FOREVER. I hope it shifts or something so it stops hurting vaguely when I chew things.
I also watched Glee, which took another hour away from writing. The rest of my shows, I /am/ caught up with. But I watch them on Hulu while I eat dinner or lunch, so that I'm not taking away time I usually spend writing to watch. Glee I watch with my dad, so I'm still watching it.
Anyway, today's words were all one scene, but I probably should have found a way to break it into two or three, because it was essentially three separate events with no time skips. Meh. Still, it was a fun write. I had Damien do something I'd been meaning to have him do for a while, but I'm beginning to think I'm making him bipolar. His approach to this new world is just different from his approach in the twilight world. There, Liliana was very easy to rely on, and he kind of impressed on her when she saved him and brought him to civilization. Here, he doesn't feel as indebted to my supporting cast, so he is much less trusting of them. He /should/ be paranoid, and less trusting, but I'm not sure if I've given enough evidence for that. We'll see.
Word count is 31,124 words. Catching up to Lydia SO MUCH. I intend to bring Toshi to school tomorrow, so maybe I'll get some written at lunch.
Also, I should really be asleep right now.
